April 2nd , 2010

Easter is on Sunday , and it's always been a tradition to decorate these lamb cakes my grandmother makes. No one else was going to do it, so I did it. Around holidays and the such is the time when I imagine is I had a little sibling, or what it would be like if I had a child, in the future of course, so there would be a reason to do all of the holiday stuff. Its not really the same thing when you're older, it doesn't mean much to anyone anymore. If there was a little one, I would put the extra effort in, and I love doing that, to make things all that more memorable. The awe of the pure excitement of doing things we think of as stupid as we grow up. For example, my parents never went full out of the Easter egg hunt, and now I would love to organize one, but no one would ever do it with me. So I went and bought my own Easter eggs, filled them with candy , and egg dye, I'm going to make my own eggs, hide them myself, and go find them. Pitiful hey ? No one else will do it with me so I shall not let them ruin my traditions, as media marketed as they are I still think they're fun, put on my bunny ears , and hop around my house/backyard. And I will have fun all by my self, and everyone else will be jealous.
The lamb cake, yummy icing ^ _ ^ decorated all by myself, but icing supplies were depleted with the assistance of Joe every time he walked by. I only like the pink jelly beans. And Mother made me cover the icing with coconut. I don't like coconut on my icing. Just. Icing.

In another note, my sewing machine saw action today, after spending hours trying to see what was wrong with it, thinking it was fixed, realizing it wasn't then having to fix it again. THEN messing up on the pattern I was working on, realizing I'm a dumb ass, scrapped that, THEN finally got the right amount of fabric, realized I'm not that big, gave up for the night. ( I'm making a dress : 3 ) I'll be back for you little machine. The said sewing machine, sitting there, looking all innocent.
