July 28th 2010

Yesterday I came back from a family reunion. For a family reunion on my dad's side it wasn't that bad. We never used to have these ( or we just didn't go to them ) But as of a couple of years we've started going. The last couple of ones I have gone to have been pretty bad, I mean terrible. This year was pretty good, with its exceptions. So we got there on Saturday, two hours before check in at the hotel place we were staying at so Mother and I went around town and walked through this beautiful marsh lake, we had to walk on a platform path, because it was all mushy and not safe to walk on down below. It was really pretty though. We then returned to the place, got our room, which was a two story chalet , three bedrooms, My dad and Joe took the big one, mom and I got another, and oh goody grandma got the other one. We all tried to avoid her like the plague, I know that sounds awful, but my grandmother, to say the least is an attention whore, likes to seem all pitiful me even if it means lying. Everything is about her and she likes to start trouble. Oh and she does the whole dumb three year old act.The Path mother and I walked.
It says Gullible ( spelt wrong ) is written underneath this bench. Guess who went and checked? Damn straight, look who was right.I have this thing where if I see water.. I have to take off my shoes and go in it.
Everyone then showed up. There was my relatives from the states ( who like to remind us that they do in fact have their Canadian citizenship ) that included my uncle Al, uncle Barry, and grown up cousin Kurt, I happen to like all of them. Then there was my uncle Gerald and auntie Annie, with whom Ive met but I never had the chance to talk to. Then my auntie Cathy, cousin Clifford, Auntie Joanie, and Cousin Marina, and Grandma. Except for the last three everyone was wonderful.I was bored .. I thought it might look cool.Mom and I like to walk, we went on many evening strolls past the train tracks. The number of our hotel room, the number on the door though said 0.Mom getting ready to attack Joe. Me and Uncle Gerald, it was his Olympic gold medal, I think.

The second day we went to Kananaskis, Joe and I rode with Auntie Annie and Uncle Gerald, it was actually really cool because we got to learn about them, and they were really cool people. I wish my Auntie Annie could have been my Grandmother. The whole weekend she showed me how I imagined a grandmother should act, she was cute, didn`t treat me like I was five, talked to me like a real person, told me cool stories, gave me attention, and was just plain amazing. On the trip we stopped a whole lot of times, sometimes twice in five minutes, it bugged Joe but I loved all the things they talked about, I know its weird, but I find elder person`s stories of the past enthralling, I love listening to them, and learning about stuff like that.Joe attempting to skip rocks. Key word, attempting.
On one of our many pit stops.Does he not look Godly? = P
According to auntie Annie, those flowers are called purple monkey flowers.
Top left to right: Uncle Al, auntie Annie, Grandma, Uncle Barry, Bottom Left to right: auntie Ann ( from whom my middle name comes from) uncle Gerald. The lake at Kananaskis.More of this lake. At least I think it was a lake. After we stopped in a hotel for Icecream.

I believe this is true love.
I like the clouds in this picture. The second day we headed of to this `factory` tour which was really a tour of a store, the guy was a jerk, and I just about passed out, so mother and I went back to the hotel because I was feeling really awful, we then went to Banff where the rest of the gang was. We didn`t spend it with them because they went to some musical mounted police ride, and we went to the trading post. I love first nations things ( and fox tails :3 ). We then returned back with my dad and Joe to cook dinner, Auntie Annie and uncle Gerald show up to help us cook, and that was one of the funnest times in the kitchen Ive had in a long time.
All of us having breakfast, nummy.

The train, its actually the end of the train, with the engine going backwards.
I was being dangerous. I like the silhouettes.
The trading post : ) I like the clouds.
Theyre cars, i thought it looked kind of cool.

All in all it was a good experience, I`m not going to talk about the negative, because I don`t feel I want to remember that. I`m very glad I went if just to connect with my Auntie Annie. She and I sat for over two hours while everyone was packing and she showed me her family history book. It was wonderful. She showed me this mystery locket that no one can find out the truth because there is no one left to tell it.Me and Auntie Annie
