June 19th 2011 ( June 3rd)

So I'm playing catch up on events =P It's almost been a whole month, But on June third I was very proud to be apart of Hinamatsuri, Dori's Doll's launch ( Since I am one of Dori's Dolls :3 ). This event was to not only launch the Dolls, but more importantly raise funds for Japan relief efforts. It seemed like it took for ever for the day to actually come, I was really excited for it. We had two photo shoots to get ready for this ( which where my firsts ) . The first shoot was to get the images for the poster. From Top to bottom : Nyawal , Savana , Venessa , Jennifer ( me ) and Rowena. Photography By Litratoat this point I was super excited just to see my face on the poster, until I found out, I was on the ticket!I was very surprised and very excited , since after all these girls all have much more experience on me.The second photoshoot we actually got to wear kimonos , which was totally awesome, and some of the pictures from this shoot were made into posters that were to be auctioned off to raise money. It was an awesome experience, authentic kimono's , took us at least ten minutes to get into all of the layers , and two wonderful women to get us in them. I must say , I have never had someone dress me like that before. : P For this shoot we were at the Japanese Cultural center, which was pretty much just a normal building, but the photographers went around and gathered enough stuff to make beautiful sets. The hair and make up ladies , Kesar and Trena , were absolutely wonderful, and are very wonderful with what they do.
And one of Venessa , I just love this picture , especially with the cranes.

Then we had a fitting, where we met with the designer and made sure everything was going to fit, the first sneak peak at the clothes we were going to wear , so gorgeous. I was super excited because the coat she had me in was amazing!

The day finally came , from four thirty till about eight twenty was hair and makeup. I love spending time with this group of people, they are all so positive and nice, and it's really like a family.

Hair and make up was such a team effort, Kesar designed the image, and with help from Trena and Kada , we had our Geisha "masks" on and Mallory helped with our crazy hair, look and how high that is! = P I loved it. ( Photo Paul Spenard)

The whole group of us , Minus two Dolls who could not make it. With Dorian , ( of Dori's Dolls, and Dori's Diamonds, and the Talent Manager of my modelling agency. ) Dorian, Rowena , Tessa, Nyawal, Savana , and Myself. ( Photo Doug Wong ) Then this is myself with Patricia, Of Beatrix , the designer of all our outfits of the night, Her work is just amazing, and she is such an amazing person! And we have matching hair.

The Blue went so well with my hair : 3 So after hair and makeup we were surprised with a limo to the event , where we the quickly went to a room in the back, so no one could see us and the beautiful creations we became until the fashion show. Its always so scary backstage before walking and then you do walk, and its such a rush, while posing and looking into the audience, I even saw my Jorelle , with his camera pointed right at me = P
After the fashion show we went down into the basement for a quick photo shoot ( which I'm still waiting to see pictures of ) , and then we went and mingled , My Mother , Brother , Jorelle and his bestfriend Ryan came out for the event. I am so glad they all came : ) And I hope they enjoyed themselves. All in all it was such a great night and I wish I could wear my hair like that always :)
